Scheduling the Building
To schedule the building, Bro Woodward had created a direct email for people to request building reservations rather than calling him (see his instructions below):
I now have an email set up specifically for scheduling the building.
cc3scheduling@gmail.com
I’d like all further requests (from all ward and stake members) to be directed to this email only as it makes it easier for me to get all events scheduled as soon as possible.
For anyone who needs to schedule something, please include your name, contact info, the type of event (including what sections of the building are needed such as the gym or pavilion) and what day(s) and time(s) they need.
I will respond within 24-48 hours letting them know it’s been scheduled or if their time slot is occupied already.
English Language Classes
English as a second language (ESL) classes are being offered at the Stake Center every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 and all are welcome. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Lisa Hill at 801-712-2910.

(1/26/2026) I caught a rat!
Heyo 👋
How was everyone's week? Mine was pretty busy with some fun stories. But first, spiritual thought.
Spiritual thought:
Lately I've been thinking a lot about experiences. Mainly spiritual ones, but personal and fun ones are always good to have.
"In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost" -President Nelson
What does constant influence mean? Does that mean that I only need to have one big spiritual party of my life and my testimony is set?
Not at all. Like how president Nelson explains, our spiritual moments cannot get us through hard times. It is only with the Holy Ghost that can CONSISTENTLY guide us through our life.
However important spiritual experiences are, they spirit not be our fuel for more that a year. We must search diligently for opportunities to serve other people and to bring the spirit. Look at the example of Lamen and Lemuel who LITERALLY saw an angel of God. But their hearts weren't turned to God and the murmured immediately after the angel left.
It is also important to note, that no matter how hard WE try, we can NEVER force spiritual experiences to happen. NEVER. All that depends on the will of God, but it is our duty to bring about these moments when the opportunities arrises. Our hearts must be open. To be willing to serve others. To understand what God would want to happen.
Praying is another good way to invite the spirit to touch hearts. I've learned that God is just waiting for us to pray for blessings he's already willing to give us. Its a reason we have the prayer. In this, I love to pray for a miracle each day. I pray that I can be in a place to bring about his miracles when the time is right, and the opportunity is given.
So I invite you to pray, even those who may seem their faith is faltering. Even those who feel their faith has faltered altogether. Who feel they may have lost the joy they once had. I know that prayer is thr answer for you. I love you guys, and love to hear from you. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen
Random happenings (photos to come)
- we visited one of the two dams here and had a full tour. It was EPIC! (sorry no photos though, it wasn't allowed)☹️
- I caught a rat that tried to fall down a wall. I pinned it against the wall with a giant squeegee. (There is a photo)
- exchanges with the branch president (who is a missionary)
- we had a baptism! The night before, we had some problems with the drain, so we spent about an hour trying to find a solution. (I'll show you the result)
- we had a special friend come to church that the missionaries have been trying for 9 months. (Probably won't happen again, but who am I to tell)
Again, sorry for the long email, thanks for reading. Email me back with something fun you did over the weekend.
And...
If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who'd it be and what's the first question you'd ask? (You can say Jesus, but add another one if you do)
Also join the Google photos to see all the lovely photos and videos

(1-26-2026) TUVIMOS CAMBIOS ✨️
The time of me and my comp (Elder Ramirez), the black and the white, light and dark, 🌚🌞, has come to an end, but hey its all good because I am coming up on 6 months in the mission (which is crazy) and no longer have to go to bed so mentally drained due to straight spanish all day everyday.
So first things first! Got a new comp, his name is Elder Jacobsen from Idaho. He eats a lot of potatos and walks around with a stick in his mouth 24/7... Nah I'm just playing he is actually so cool. He is very active and we play tons of sports together. Fire cambio were gonna have 🔥 I stayed here in Huamachuco so now I need to lead the area 💀 Still working on this Spanish thing all day everyday, and I can see the Lord's hand in my learning the language.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT 👻💭:
To start I know that I've talked a ton about diligence but I'm gonna talk about it again...
Proverbs 12:27
The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
Something that we have needed in this area is diligence. And for what we're doing here we are basically hunting. Hunting or seeking for the elect, people who are ready a d have been prepared to hear this message and be baptised. Something that is so important is staying true to yourself, and to God. We told God that we would give our whole heart and soul to him so we may "build up his kingdom" But how can we do that if we only sometimes give it him.
So how can we offer up all we have, because we are not perfect! Give God your will. Give him little by little. And in return God will give you someone better.

Stake History Publication Now Available
We want to let the ward know that we still have several of these books available. Please check with the bishopric or any of the clerks if you are interested in one for your library.
Sandy Utah Cottonwood Creek Stake
Brothers and Sisters,
We are excited to announce the publication and availability of “Worthy of Remembrance” a history of the Sandy Cottonwood Creek Stake 1978-2022. Sister Terri Packer, a member of our stake, has done an amazing job compiling and writing the history.
The stake has subsidized the cost of publishing the history in an effort to make the book available to as many people as possible. The history contains spiritually uplifting experiences shared by members of our stake in their own words. It includes interesting information about the area, the history, and creation of our Stake. The book is beautiful, readable, inspiring, and full of many, many, photographs, which tell a history of their own.
Copies are available now. Ward clerks have access to the books and can help with the process of purchasing the history. The cost of the book is $10. Each ward has received a small number of copies to provide to those wishing to purchase. More copies are available for wards to obtain. In addition, copies of the history will be placed in each of our meetinghouse libraries for those who would like to explore the book without purchase.
Those who live outside of the stake and are interested in purchasing a copy may contact our stake executive secretary, Don McOmie, to coordinate receiving a copy.
We hope that you will find the history to be as wonderful and inspiring as we have. It bears witness of the hand of the Lord at work in the Sandy Cottonwood Creek stake over many, many years. We highly recommend it to all.
Warm Regards,
The Stake Presidency
