Hello.
My name is Sarah McConkie and as many of you know last year we started a Messiah sing-along in our stake. This was a great community event and we are going to do it again this year!
President Sorenson has given his blessing for a repeat performance of last year's very successful presentation of the Messiah.
We REALLY need to get going on getting music and information to people and thus far, have had very poor response. Those wanting to participate may not necessarily be members of your choir, of your ward, or of our Stake. This is meant to be open to all of our Neighbors - perhaps you know someone not of our faith that would like to participate in this uplifting and inspiring celebration of our Savior's birth.
If you want to perform in the choir or orchestra, please sign up using this link:
🎵 Ward Choir 🎵
Joyful Noise
Please join us for choir practice every Sunday at 11:15 AM
Ward choir is open to all members of any age.
We get nearer to the Lord through music than perhaps through any other thing except Prayer."
-President J Reuben Clark
"Some of the greatest sermons are preached by the singing of hymns."
-Elder Jay E. Jensen (of the seventy)
Cottonwood Creek Stake Single Adults 36 and Older
Mondays at 7:00 PM, there is a weekly Come, Follow Me discussion group for the Cottonwood Creek Stake Single Adults held at the home of Shelly Ashcroft - 1780 East Julho Street (big blue house on the corner of Paulista and Julho). Come prepared to share a personal insight or question from the week's assigned reading.
Scheduling the Building
To schedule the building, Bro Woodward had created a direct email for people to request building reservations rather than calling him (see his instructions below):
I now have an email set up specifically for scheduling the building.
cc3scheduling@gmail.com
I’d like all further requests (from all ward and stake members) to be directed to this email only as it makes it easier for me to get all events scheduled as soon as possible.
For anyone who needs to schedule something, please include your name, contact info, the type of event (including what sections of the building are needed such as the gym or pavilion) and what day(s) and time(s) they need.
I will respond within 24-48 hours letting them know it’s been scheduled or if their time slot is occupied already.
English Language Classes
English as a second language (ESL) classes are being offered at the Stake Center every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 and all are welcome. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Lisa Hill at 801-712-2910.

Hey guys gonna keep this email short because in full reality nothing really happened these last 3 days.
Visited the Temple last thursday (p-day for last week) and it was much needed!! Always love visiting the temples escpecially ones in spanish.
Had exchanges with our zone leaders and honestly had a blast speaking spanish with them all day. The Elder I was with is from equador and knows English super well, he learned through watching movies on netflix so guys it is still possible to learn through minimal effort... I led the area so we visited all our friends and had a great time practicing both languages
Ok like I said short
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT: I heard a quote about hope that has really stood out to me, it kinda goes something like this.
"In the darkest times Hope is something you give yourself, that is the meaning of innerstrength"
We learn from Alma 32:21 that, "faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true."
Everyone is blessed with a spark of hope, so light a bonfire. Use dry firm logs and not soppy twigs as evidence you can count on. Because you will recieve what you hope for, "the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts" 1 Corinthians 4:5
Shout outs!!

News from Elder Carter Hill (11/25/2025)
Coucou tout le monde! How was everyone's week? Mine was just splendid. And full of amazing wildlife here in Africa. But not in a good way.
We got a rat in the guitar, ants in the walls, and cockroaches in the drains and a toilet that leaks urine...
To start off, we had a mouse that thought he could live with 4 teenage boys. First off, bad idea. Second off, he thought he could get away. Here's a quick run-down of the week Here's the story.
Story time: one morning as me and my companion were planning for the next week. The other two elders in our apartment found out that a rat had gotten in their guitar and was still in there. So like ratatouille, he had hours own John Denver guiding him around until he ended up in the guitar.
They thought it was hilarious and because it couldn't get out, they brought the guitar over to show us. We're all up and trying to see the rat. I was taking a look when it got enough grip to climb out. Oooooohhh boy did I freak out. It even ran straight for me after it hit the ground.
The other two elders closed our door which was is only escape and grabbed a broom and returned. Thus far want going anywhere. But when the other elders came back, we couldn't find the rat. We RIPPED that room apart looking for it until I moved my bed covers. And there it was, on the corner of MY bed... it ran off trying to escape but really there was nothing it could do to escape. My comp went bloodthirsty for this rat. So much that the broom broke. We finally killed it and decided to celebrate by humiliating it. We've got an amazing selfie of all the elders over this poor rats dead body. Then put it in a bag the said thank you on it.
Sorry that's not even half of it... it gets worse. The very next morning I walk into the kitchen to find it overrun with ants. And they're huge.
We clean that up and that leads us to outside, where one elder saw a roach leak ve this concrete hole in our apartment.
We killed about 25-30 roaches just from that until they figured it out and tried escaping back through our drainage system. But they have all been killed, but there is still a hole currently. We're working on that one.
After that our toilet just felt like giving up on us and felt he was no longer chill just being a toilet. There was a leak somewhere and it showed when another elder tried going the bathroom.
Any way. Hectic week,. Ton of fun stories. And because this is already long I will keep the thought short.
Spiritual thought: This is one of the points I brought up last time.
- His words will fill your soul up with joy.
I just want to testify this time at the straight up TRUTH of this phrase. I mean, who doesn't want to hear that there is ALWAYS a way back through righteousness. It's not easy, but it was never meant to be. We are here to be masters of our own selves, which is pretty freaken hard if you ask me. Jesus is the perfect example(as always) of self control. When satin tempted him 3 different times, he withstood him EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Not only that, but without waiver or struggle. He KNEW God's plan and made the decision long before he came here to OBEY the words and will of God. That we must follow, THAT we must become to receive happiness and joy. Joy doesn't come when things are easy, they come when you've made your way through hard things or times and you can finally look back and see your progression. I invite you to find your progression. How far have you come? I know that it is a lot farther than you originally thought. Trust yourself, and trust that God has you in his hands. Just like a pot in the hands of the potter. I'm sure it the pot could speak it would say "why do you strain me so much? It's this really nessicary?" But it is, because we can become something beautiful through the working hands of God.
Love you guys, sorry that message was a little longer than what I originally thought. But hey, look at my progression!
See you later, and get me an email of you don't mind. Always welcome and loved throughout the week.

Stake History Publication Now Available
We want to let the ward know that we still have several of these books available. Please check with the bishopric or any of the clerks if you are interested in one for your library.
Sandy Utah Cottonwood Creek Stake
Brothers and Sisters,
We are excited to announce the publication and availability of “Worthy of Remembrance” a history of the Sandy Cottonwood Creek Stake 1978-2022. Sister Terri Packer, a member of our stake, has done an amazing job compiling and writing the history.
The stake has subsidized the cost of publishing the history in an effort to make the book available to as many people as possible. The history contains spiritually uplifting experiences shared by members of our stake in their own words. It includes interesting information about the area, the history, and creation of our Stake. The book is beautiful, readable, inspiring, and full of many, many, photographs, which tell a history of their own.
Copies are available now. Ward clerks have access to the books and can help with the process of purchasing the history. The cost of the book is $10. Each ward has received a small number of copies to provide to those wishing to purchase. More copies are available for wards to obtain. In addition, copies of the history will be placed in each of our meetinghouse libraries for those who would like to explore the book without purchase.
Those who live outside of the stake and are interested in purchasing a copy may contact our stake executive secretary, Don McOmie, to coordinate receiving a copy.
We hope that you will find the history to be as wonderful and inspiring as we have. It bears witness of the hand of the Lord at work in the Sandy Cottonwood Creek stake over many, many years. We highly recommend it to all.
Warm Regards,
The Stake Presidency
